The Dewees Family
Like many small businesses, our first venture into maple syrup started from curiosity. Being an avid outdoorsman (Kyle) and growing up on a dairy farm (Sara), has given us an appreciation for the outdoors, a hard day’s work, and Mother Nature. Our journey into maple syrup began after we tapped a few maple trees and boiled our first batch of syrup over an open fire.
We are first generation sugar makers. We didn’t have anyone to teach us; we learned through trial and error, long hours, and our passion for providing high quality, local, Pennsylvania made products. This business is based around family; you’ll often find us with the kids at Farmer’s Markets, in the kitchen bottling syrup, or in the woods running lines. Eternally thankful for our mentors, network of friends, family, and loyal customers that have helped us along this journey.
Now, four years later, the rolling hills of northern Pennsylvania is home to our sugar bush and where our small family pulls together to make it all happen. During the peak sugar season, we are tapping trees, checking lines daily, pumping thousands of gallons of sap, boiling syrup, and bottling. Between our home base and our sugar shack, we have logged many miles and spent countless late nights chasing the sap. It has become our passion and we love just about every minute of it.
It is important now more than ever, to know where your food comes from and how it was produced. We encourage an open dialect with our customers about all aspects of our sugaring operation. Being able to have open, honest conversations about the food you are consuming is one of the biggest advantages of buying from a small, local producer like ourselves.
We’re looking forward to the future as our sugar bush grows to over 3000 taps in 2020 and our business continues to evolve.

Rum Barrel Aged Maple Syrup
Our pure Pennsylvania maple syrup slow aged in rum barrels from a local distillery. Flavor profile tends to be on the sweeter, smooth side. Think spicey pulled chicken or homemade whipped cream.
